Donut County provides a lot of what people are always saying they want more of from their mobile games: a new and unique world, a compelling story and interesting mechanics you don’t see in tons of other titles.

Despite being a game about holes, Donut County is a remarkably complete experience. It’s got the charm and silliness of something like Katamari Damacy, but with some added depth, interesting character work, and compelling storytelling to boot. This is an absolute must play.

Donut County is simply stunning. It smashes together smart gameplay, simple controls, a ridiculous storyline, and a gorgeous soundtrack, creating a masterpiece of an easy-going puzzler. If you're looking for something with tons of depth and hours of gameplay, you won't find it here. But what you will find is one of the finest puzzle games you may ever play, and an experience that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

Although relatively short and easy, Donut Country is an immensely satisfying and warm-hearted game that’s quite unlike anything else available on the App Store, or indeed anywhere.

Donut County is a real pleasure to see and it also plays smoothly, but its lack of depth and level design, ultimately, is keeping it to become that gem that could have been.

With humor and personality, a wacky scenario and easy-to-understand holey puzzles, Donut County is a good game, a bit short, but with a lot of quality and fun.

Donut County excels with its tone, art and story though it will leave players looking for a challenge wanting more. Niche, brief but still great.

Donut County is a strange, unique game, and I think it’s great. The gameplay is simple yet undeniably enjoyable. The visuals are cool, colourful and fun. Yet most impressive is the rather captivating story and characters that tie this whole thing together. Sure, the game might be a little too easy and really only takes a few hours to beat without much incentive for replayability (unless you’re interested in chasing achievements). But Donut County is easily one of the most enjoyable games I’ve played this year and I think everyone should check it out.

You get to meet all these quirky characters, you finally have levels where there is more to do then swallow everything, but then the game just ends. I like everything about this game, it’s just too short to recommend.

While Donut County is available for consoles, it feels at home on a phone, where you slide your finger around to directly guide the hole in the ground. And while it does have low-key puzzles that gently arc up in difficulty as they go, its pleasures are more aesthetic, with lush beats soundtracking your destruction and an appetizing assortment of pastel landscapes.
